In the Silence now has a cover and a formal release date!

The extremely handsome cover above was one of four designs presented to me by my publisher, Bloodhound Books, and it’s safe to say it was the clear winner from the outset. It conveys a flavour of the setting and mood of the book while still managing to be suitably non-specific. I’ve personally never been a big fan of book covers that make the model too prominent, especially when their face is clear. I feel it forces the reader into picturing the character in question looking a specific way, and I’m willing to bet that, more often than not, the author has little to no say in what they look like. In my own mind, I’m very clear about what my characters look like, but I’d prefer readers to conjure up their own mental images of Anna, Zoe and the rest of In the Silence’s cast.
