And now for something a little different. I’m not sure if other authors have ever done this, but if not, I may have just invented something. I call it a “mood board” - a selection of photos intended to evoke some of the atmosphere of my upcoming novel, Cruel Summer. Most are free images taken from pexels.com, pixabay.com and stocksnap.io. Don’t try to interpret them too literally - with the exception of the last two, taken from an episode of the TV series New Tricks, the locations shown in them aren’t actually Glasgow, where the novel takes place.
